Silk Route Tour Package - The Silk Route is an ancient network of trade route which connects India with China and passes through East Sikkim.
This ancient trade route is over 10,000km and is considered as the first super highway of the world. This ancient route passes through Lhasa and Nathu La and Jelep La Pass and finally reaches the port of Tamluk in West Bengal.
It is called Silk Route because of the silk trading that took place. The Silk Route was in fashion during the Tang Dynasty.
Silk Route is an ideal destination for adventure tourists. Many activities like Trekking, Camping, Fishing, and Biking are available.
The best time to visit the silk route is in the month of September to December and February to July, ranges between 2 degrees and 8 degrees in December & January, which is freezing cold. Sealdah Railway Station -
@ Activities: Meet & Greet at Sealdah Railway Station. Start for New mal Junction by train. Overnight stay at Train.
On the very first day of our Silk Route Tour, we will meet each other at Sealdah Railway station, and there you will be introduced to the Silk Route Tour Plan guide as well.
Our journey will start from Sealdah Railway Staton by train. We will board Uttar Banga Express/ Darjeeling Mail/ Kanchankanya Express, whichever will be available. We will be traveling in Non AC sleeper class coach. The train departs at around 7:30 pm/ 10:05 pm/ 8:30 pm, respectively.
We will spend the night on the train. We advise you to get some good rest on the train because there are a lot of adventures waiting for you from the next day onwards.
Reach New Jalpaiguri Station -
@ Activities : Pickup from Njp transfer to Sillerygaon. On way visit
Coronation Bridge, Teesta River. Night stay at Sillery gaon.
The next day of our Silk Route Tour, we will reach New Jalpaiguri Station, and from there, we will start our journey towards Sillery Gaon. But as I have said before, a lot is waiting for you along the way. On our way to Sillery Gaon, we will visit the Coronation Bridge overlooking the Teesta River.
If you have a knack for River Rafting, then you can fulfill your desire here, but it is excluded from the tour cost. After that, via Kalimpong & Algarah town, we will reach Sillerygaon.
It is actually a Hamlet which is situated very close to Pedong and Kalimpong town. On your way to this town, you can experience the outstanding scenic beauty, green lofty mountainous valley, and almost movie-like tall pine tree forest. You might feel that it is straight out of some cinema!
We will be traveling almost 95KM before checking to the Home stay of Sillery Gaon. After lunch and freshening up a bit, you can easily stroll around the village in the afternoon. It is a beautiful place to have a walk. We will pass the night at Sillery Gaon. We will have our booking in Sillery Gaon homestay or Sillery Gaon hotel.
Sillerygaon to Aritar -
@ Activities : Visit Silent Valley, Cross hill view point, Mankhim view point, Aritar Dak Bunglow, Lampokhari lake (Aritar Lake), Aritar gompha, Ganesha temple, Rongli bazar(Permit). Night stay at Aritar.
The next attraction on our Silk Route tour package is our trip from Sillerygaon to Aritar. This is indeed one of the key parts of our East Sikkim tour plan. We will start the day with some wholesome breakfast and then a little sightseeing around Sillery Gaon. One of the best places here is the Ramitey viewpoint which offers a panoramic view of the 14 bends of the river Teesta.
After that, we can start our journey towards Aritar.
On our way, we will visit Silent Valley and Cross hill viewpoint. Another famous viewpoint here is the Mankhim viewpoint. This place offers you a fantastic view of the mountainous valley around you.
The first significant place near the vicinity of Aritar is the Aritar Dak Bungalow. But that’s not all. You will also see Lampokhari lake (Aritar Lake), Aritar gompha, and Ganesha temple.
But before we reach our destinations one after one, we will have to make permits. The office is in the Rongli bazaar. Here, we will make a small stop, and during this time, you can stroll in the market and buy something if you wish.
After making the permit, we will start traveling again, and via Lingtham (1st checkpoint), we will reach the Arital hotel.
We will spend the night in Aritar. We will arrange our accommodation for the night in the Aritar homestay or Aritar hotel.
Sart for Padamchen -
@ Activities : Visit via Rongli, Qukhola water falls, Nimachen. Night stay at Padamchen.
The next day on our Silk Route Tour, we will start the day with some tasty breakfast and then head for Padamchen. Since we again have to go via Rongli, we can visit a few remarkable places along the way like Qukhola waterfalls and Nimachen.
Nimachen is a small and beautiful little village where you can enjoy amazing weather and also the breathtaking view of snow-capped mountains. But to be fair, the key attraction of the fourth day of our East Sikkim tour plan is the visit to Phadamchen.
This is another beautiful hamlet, known for its amazing dense forest and the home of various unique birds. If you want to absorb peace and tranquillity from nature, then this is it. After reaching Phadamchen, we will first complete our check-in process and spend some time at leisure.
You can have some me-time and stroll into the nearby places. We don’t have any plans for the day, so you can relax and unwind in this beautiful place. During the evening, you can enjoy the scenic sunset while hearing the song of crickets.
We will serve you a lip-smacking dinner at night, and we will spend the night at Phadamchen.
Padamchen to Zuluk -
@ Activities : Whole day sightseeing, On the way visit Bhool Bhulaiyaa road, Zigzag view point, Thambi view point, Nathang Valley, Old Baba Mandir, Elephant Lake, Kupup Valley, Laxmi Chowk, Lungthung. Night stay at Zuluk/ Padamchen.
On the following day of our Silk Route tour plan, we will start from Padamchen and head towards Zuluk. This day is absolutely dedicated to the Zuluk tour plan. The whole day, we will visit various amazing places and enjoy the very best that Zuluk has to offer.
The first stop on our way is the Thambi viewpoint. From here, you will get a fantastic view of the valley under you and, of course, the mountain range. But we are just getting started. Next, we will visit Bhool Bhulaiyaa road and the famous Zigzag viewpoint. This is where you can see the entire zigzag road on which you have traveled so far. The view from this point of the Kanchanjhangha mountain range is difficult to express in words.
Then we will move towards Nathang Valley, a valley covered with snow. Here, you can have an amazing time with your family and friends. This is an iconic place, and it is situated at an elevation of 13500 ft.
But the trip isn’t over yet. Next, we will visit the famous Old Baba Mandir, Elephant Lake, Kupup Valley, Laxmi Chowk, and Lungthung. Every single one of them is famous for their own unique beauty, and they will stay with your memories forever!Along the way, you can also visit the temple and a Buddhist monastery to take the blessing of Gods for the rest of your journey.
We can spend the night at Zuluk, or we can get back to Padamchen and spend the night there. Either way, we will have booking in Padamchen homestay or Zuluk homestay or Zuluk hotel.
Start for Rishikhola -
@ Activities : Zuluk to Rishikhola. Night stay at Rishikhola.
The next day of our Silk Route tour package will start from Zuluk and travel towards Rishikhola.
This is actually a tiny valley situated on the bank of the river Reshi. The altitude of this place is 2,000ft. It is very famous among travelers, especially those who prefer camping and picnicking.
We will be traveling around 35Km to reach Rishikhola, and we will check into the resort. After freshening up, you will have the entire day to yourself. You can relax, unwind and stroll on the river bank.
At night you can hear the incredible roar of the river, traveling upwards and under the moonlight; we will have a bonfire. Now, what can be better than that!
Plus, it will be from our end. So, you just have to sit, relax, and enjoy your evening!
We will spend the night at Rishikhola.
Start for Rishikhola -
@ Activities : Zuluk to Rishikhola. Night stay at Rishikhola.
The next day on our Silk Route tour plan, we will have some breakfast check out from the Homestay of Rishikhola. On our way towards New Jalpaiguri, we will still stop by to visit some places around Rishikhola.
This is a wonderful place to click photos near the forest and the river bank. Plus, you can take a stroll in the lush green forest around you. As we descend even, the wonders of this place will not cease.
Just like I had said, there is beauty at every turn. So, you will see breathtaking natural beauty as you descend from Rishikhola and travel towards New Jalpaiguri.
After reaching New Jalpaiguri station, we will board our train. The reservations will already be there for you, and on the next day, we will reach Sealdah Station.
