The Silk Route is an ancient network of trade route which connects India with China and passes through East Sikkim. This ancient trade route is over 10,000km and is considered as the first superhighway of the world. This ancient route passes through Lhasa and Nathu La and Jelep La Pass and finally reaches the port of Tamluk in West Bengal. It is called Silk Route because of the silk trading that took place. The Silk Route was in fashion during the Tang Dynasty. Silk Route is an ideal destination for adventure tourists. Many activities like Trekking, Camping, Fishing, and Biking are available. The best time to visit the silk route is in the month of December and January ranges between 2 degrees and 8 degrees, which is freezing cold. Day 1

Arrival at Sealdah Station.

Our Silk Route tour starts from Sealdah Railway Station by Uttarbanga Express/ Darjeeling Mail/ Kanchankanya Express by Sleeper class coach which departs at 7:30 pm, 10:05 pm, and 8:30 pm respectively.

Day 2

Arrival at New Jalpaiguri.

Next morning you will arrive at New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) around 8:30 am and in some food stall near the station, you could finish your breakfast. Next, we will head towards Aritar, which is known for its beauty. It is the latest destination in East Sikkim and growing popularity amongst the tourist community across the world. To reach Aritar you will be provided with Jeep and it is a journey for 4 hours. Lunch will be served during the journey. Around 3 in the afternoon we will reach Aritar and you will be transferred to a Homestay. There you will spend the night. After resting for 1 hour you could go out to Aritar Lake which has a boating facility. It is the highest lake in Sikkim located at an altitude of 4600ft.

Day 3

Aritar, Padamchen, Rangoli.

After finishing breakfast we will head towards Padamchen through Rongli which is a very popular viewpoint. Our Jeep will arrive at the Aritar Homestay at 9 am and will pick you and will depart for Padamchen. On the way to Padamchen, we will need to permit you to enter Zuluk, for that you need to carry some photographs of yours and ID proof. It will take about 2 hours to reach Padamchen. Homestays in Padamchen have all modern facilities but the best part is that all of them share some amazing views of the rolling mountains. After lunch take some rest and in the evening you can stroll the Padamchen village. Get to bed as early as possible because tomorrow will be a sightseeing day in Padamchen.

Day 4

Upper Zuluk, Thamvi View Point, Zig Zag Road, Tukla Valley, Kalapokhri, Old Baba Mandir, Zelep-la Pass view, Kupup.

To get the full flavor of the Zuluk tour we will take you to Thambi viewpoint, Tukla valley, Kalapokhri, Old Baba Mandir, Jelep-La pass, Kupup. After finishing your breakfast we will depart for sightseeing. Thambi View Point is situated at an altitude of 11,600 ft. You can take beautiful pictures of the geometry of curves that are really unique and unparallel. Next, we head to the Tukla valley; it is located at an altitude of 12500 ft. This valley offers you a great view of Mt. Kanchenjungha. You could also show your photography skills here. The third place is Kalapokhri which is a small village inside the Singalila National Park. This village has a black water lake from where it gets its name. Then we go to the famous Old Baba Mandir which is dedicated to Baba Harbhajan Singh who was a Sepoy in the 23rd Regiment of the Indian Army and died in the Indo-China war of 1962. This mandir was built in his memory. Next, we head towards Jelep La which is a high altitude pass at 14,000ft which borders between India and Tibet. The Menmecho Lake flows below the Jelep La Pass. You can take breathtaking at this point. Lastly, we will go to Kupup which is the highest village in this area, handicrafts and potteries are available in Kupup. It also has an ice hockey field. Then we come back to Padamchen Homestay and refresh yourself and have dinner because we will return at 7:30 pm.

Day 5

Padamchen, Silarigaon.

Today we will descend to Silerygaon, which is known as the new Darjeeling. After breakfast, we will leave for Silerygaon because it will take about 3 to 4 hours to reach. In the afternoon you will be transferred to the resort, finish lunch and rest. In the evening you can go to the bazaar to buy handicrafts then have dinner and go to bed as early as possible because tomorrow will be a sightseeing day.

Day 6

Rameiteye view, Damsang Fort, Ramdura.

The Ramitey viewpoint is 3 km from Silerygaon. To have a view of the bird’s eye of Mt. Kanchenjungha and River Teesta we have trek early in the morning. On a clear day who Teesta Bazaar can be viewed. Then we return to the resort for having breakfast. After finishing breakfast we depart to the Damsang Fort. This fort was the last home of the Lepcha King- Gyabo Achuk but now only ruins of the fort exist. To visit this fort you have to trek for an hour. Then we will head for lunch to local hotels. After finishing lunch we will move towards Ramdhura is a quaint village that has lured travelers towards it with the panoramic view of stunning Mt. Kanchenjunga and roaring river Teesta. Ramdhura will surprise you with the sparkling sunrise on Mt. Kanchenjunga from your homestay. From Ramdhura we head back towards our homestay. Spend the night in the Homestay.

Day 7

icchey Gaon, New jalpaiguri.

Today we will depart for Ichchegaon is a Himalayan hamlet tucked in pine forests of Kalimpong with a panoramic view of Mt. Kanchenjungha. Today we will go for a sunrise view with a small walk. After the sunrise visit, we will go to the New Jalpaiguri market for some handicrafts by the Sheltered Tibetans. You will be transferred to the resort. Enjoy your day. On the evening, train from New Jalpaiguri to Sealdah will arrive, board the train.

Day 8

The next morning you will in your own city.
